Mauritania issues

Dakar rally has been cancelled today because of Al Qaida threats towards French citizens in Mauritania and the killing of 4 on Christmas eve (on the road we will be using). The gunmen have done a runner to Senegal according to the best info I can get. Don't want this news to change anything so will be discussing with Christian and trying to get best quality info to make any decisions from.
